When did you join Hubbard and what was your job title then?
Weaver: I was hired by Evans Hubbard in August 1984 as a Secretary for the Estimating department, followed by Secretary to the VP of Operations, then back to Estimating. Now, I am an Executive Assistant to Jean-Marc Vautravers, President and CEO of Hubbard Construction.
How has your job changed over the years?
Computers were not widely used, if at all. When I first started with Hubbard, all of our forms for quotes, quantities and bids were typed on a typewriter. Advances in the use of computer technology, email and communication devices have really changed how we conduct business on a daily basis.
What are the biggest challenges of your position?
My challenges each day include coordinating travel arrangements for the company, managing building issues, planning successful Hubbard events, handling daily situations that arise and managing my executive assistant duties for Jean-Marc Vautravers and others. This work keeps my day interesting, challenging and continues to make me look forward to coming to work every day!
Why have you stayed with Hubbard over the years?
Honestly, I've never thought of leaving! I've been given the opportunity to advance within the organization and I truly like my job! I enjoy everyone I work with or have worked with in the past; it has made working at Hubbard a very rewarding experience
